Coastkeeper’s Gala Event

logo_ogCoastkeeper’s Gala event, to be held on November 15th at the Hotel Del Coronado, is the region’s largest gathering of environmental leaders, community activists, elected officials, and concerned citizens who join together to celebrate San Diego’s natural resources.

Coastkeeper is spearheading efforts in Southern California to create a series of Marine Protected Areas as part of the Marine Life Protection Act Initiative, and this year’s Gala will highlight our ocean wilderness and the need to protect our coastal resources now and for generations to come.

True to their commitment as environmental stewards, they are making ever effort this year make the event as sustainable as possible, from using organic and local vendors like Niemann Ranch and Quivera Winery, to using 100% recycled paper, soy-ink and energy friendly printers for all event materials. But even more exciting, this is the first ‘green auction’ ever produced in San Diego.

You can check out more information about San Diego Coastkeeper and our Gala event online at

Sacred Craft
October 10-11, 2008

SACRED CRAFT – The Consumer Surfboard Expo is bringing together all of us who love surfboards –and all things surfboard– under one roof for a weekend long surfboard extravaganza in Del Mar. A large exposition hall at the Del Mar Fairgrounds filled with the objects of our desire! If it has to do with the SURFBOARD it will be at SACRED CRAFT – The Consumer Surfboard Expo.

WHY?
Because it dawned on us that the surfboard makers needed a way to market their wares, and the surfer needed a place they could go to talk surfboard design with the people that make them, rather than some 17-year-old shop rat that doesn’t know…shoestrings. Most of you remember a time when you could go into a surfshop and talk to a shaper. They’re still out there, thank God, but sadly they are a dying breed.

Rerip Jam
September 27 2008

Rerip.com and Homeblown US present the 2nd Annual Future of Surfing fundraising event this September 27th at Fletcher Cove Park in Solana Beach, CA.  While raising environmental awareness, the event also raises scholarship funds and equipment for the Solana Beach Junior Lifeguard Program.  The first 50 participants who donate a used surfboard that day will receive a free Biofoam surfboard blank.  Donated boards will be painted on by renowned local artist, Wade Koniakowsky, and then resold that day.  All proceeds go toward creating scholarships for the Junior Lifeguard Program.

Musicians, local artists, vendors, and environmentally-minded businesses help make the day a true community event.  We need your participation to enhance the day and let people know what you are doing to make the world a better place.

But I do not have to tell Wave tribe that. love what you are doing ,when will your product be in AUSTRALIA ,

  2. Hey Mark, we are working on bringing our product to OZ. One of our partners has got some goodies in OZ, check out our OZ amigo at http://www.surfinggreen.com.au,

Nonetheless, we would love to find other retailers to work with in OZ and maybe even a distributor or two. I have been there four times myself and love that place—the surf is SICK! Thanks for the input, we hope to bring Wave Tribe full force to OZ in the next year.
